I highly suggest a PRO Endurance SD card for constant re-writing over the Amazon Basics. The Amazon one is good for smartphones and on-off recording, like for a digital camera, not for a dash cam for constant recording. All i can say is rock the card until fails or gives you issues then look into a Pro Endurance card. I have been using Samsung PRO Endurance 128GB in my Viofo with the installation kit to continue recording when the car is shut off and I have not had to replace the card yet in 6 years. I also setup the Vifo in the settings to prompt me to reformat the card every 15 days. That keeps the card fresh from wearing out on the same spot from recording.
Been on the Internet since before eternal September and I think this is the most worthless comment I've ever seen. People in the market for a $200 dashcam are not going to instead buy a whole new car.
I've had this for about a year now. Love it!! Someone in front of me got into an accident and with my footage that I was able to download immediately, sent the driver the clip so that she can provide to their insurance company. She later messaged me that because of the clip, she won the claim.
Just want to note you need to add the hardwire kit if you want recording while parked (like at the mode). I paired it with a dongar pro kit that allowed me to tap into the powered rear view mirror, which had worked well. Available here: https://dongar.tech/

I would like to respectfully disagree. When the Tesla is 200 bucks then I will buy one to install into my vehicle.
I have this dash cam and I get a message saying the card is slow, anyone know what's up with that??
You need to get a faster memory card. I recommend Sandisk or Samsung. Avoid getting memory cards off amazon or eBay as there is a higher chance for knock offs. Get them from a physical store like Best Buy or B&H

Be aware, two out of two different camera models I have had from Viofo had failed on me. One being replaced under warranty, the other one failed just above the warranty period and they want me to pay 30 dlls to ship back and get a replacement, which at this point I did not need anymore (I was planning to sell it). So get it at your own risk.
I ordered the A229 Pro 2-channel variety this morning. Added the Viofo HK4 installation kit[amazon.com], and an Amazon Basics 256GB Micro SD card[amazon.com]. From the product page:
Read speed up to 200MB/s.
Write speed up to 150MB/s.
For optimal smartphone experience includes UHS-I, U3, Class 10 and A2 speed classes.
There are specific cards the company recommends (and NOT recommend).

I had this problem. I upgraded to a Viofo branded SD card. The Viofo website essentially recommends 2 sd cards, their brand or a specific SanDisk Max Edurance SD card https://www.viofo.com/blogs/viofo...-customers

Choose ROVE R2-4K Dual if you want a cheaper-feeling, simpler dual cam with a 4K front camera and included card/accessories.
