I will second this. I wear a 7 1/2" fitted hat. I bought a XXL Quiksilver straw hat from a previous deal and it fits perfectly. I only wear it on sunny days so I can't comment on rain durability

Someone mentioned the reviews say it falls apart. Don't wear it in the rain and it will be less likely to fall apart 👍
