dont fall for it, this brand makes amazing cartridges to upgrade some units, but this unit is an absolute bottom of the barrel build with no upgrades available to it. the stylus is not able to be adjusted for counter weight, or tracking. it is a sealed one piece take it or leave it setting. you can replace the needle, that is it. there are better options for the same money that at least offer a path to upgrade the stylus when you learn more and want to upgrade the parts, do not buy this bottom feeder for a brand recognition

Thanks for the heads up. I was ready to purchase until I read the post about no adjustment for counter balancing.

I had this table for years before upgrading to a fluance RT83 and honestly it sounds pretty good in comparison. I have a lot of old albums and noticed much less popping on the audio technica. Great turntable for a newbie or someone who likes to casually enjoy vinyl that doesn't care about upgrading

This is a good starter table for someone who just wants to play stuff occasionally. If you get into listening to vinyl more, you'll want to upgrade.
