Bought the 43" because it is 4k and very light (13 pounds). The 50" is 20 pounds and the 55" is around 24". My use case was to have a TV I can carry around the house or outdoors that is super portable and big enough. Before we would watch shows on an iPad but this is a bigger screen. My use case was portability so that's why I went with the smaller and lighter 43". If you are using this as an actual TV in a fixed location, then 50" or 55" are about the same price so why not go with something a bit bigger. The BestBuy website also has a 50" Toshiba for around the same price in case you are ok spending a little more. The Toshiba was heavier so I went with the Insignia for portability.

HDR10 assumes that your display can get to roughly 1000 nits of brightness to be effective. this is a 300 nit display. it's dimmer than my meh laptop display. my 6 year old 48" oled reaches about 700nits and that's considered kind of dim but okayish for starting to watch hdr content. even SRGB assumes 500 nits peak brightness for full color volume and solid lower contrast. tl;dr: this is NOT a good tv. maybe as a second tv in a bedroom that doesn't get any sun (or always watch in the dark or whatever?) - also I wouldn't want to use this for modern gaming either because the display is only 60hz. this is a bargain basement tv. - I was considering it for digital signage use, but I doubt that 300 nits peak is going to be bright enough for even that so I'm gonna pass on this and you probably should to unless you really know that you're going to watch movies in the dark with it.
