Unless you can get it for a better price in a combo. Search the forum for 270k for past deals and combos.

The only negative about this chip is there is no upgrade path. Not a big deal if you don't upgrade you cpu.

This is a great price... unless you live close to a Microcenter. Micro has them on sale (non-bundle) for $249. I live within 2 hours of 3 different Microcenter stores (1 to the North, 1 to the East, and 1 to the South), but they're all 2 hours. I ordered on amazon today about 7:42am and by 11:30am it was on my doorstep. Can't argue with that... even though I don't care for amazon.

You will have to sell a kidney to afford the RAM to go with it....

I actually realized that the Amazon one might be slightly better if you have the prime card

Was checking out cpu cooler and noticed 8% cash back for no-rush shipping
which would make the 270k ~$243.8 after the 8% cashback (~$21.20)
so around $6 cheaper 🤷 ♂️

but Amazon will only be better if buying the cpu only. for a new build the Microcenter bundle is definitely better.

If you look at the benchmarks, it'd be very unlikely you'd want to upgrade this in the future. This is probably one of the fastest CPUs on the market.

A question, does this chip work OK with Windows 10? Any issues, does Windows 10 take full potential of this chip's capabilities? Is it worth it?
Some of the programs I use has issues with Windows 11.

Thanks

I have the 265K, one step down from this, and it is plenty fast on Windows 10 LTSC. Programs load fast and compression and decompression are fast. A lot quicker than my AMD 5600X from my old PC. I paid $244 for the 265K as part of a mobo deal on Newegg at the time. $265 for the 270K is a solid price for the performance you get. Better value than the $400+ AMDs IMHO.

Because the CPU pulls over 200 Watts under load, I'd get a pretty beefy air cooler or an AIO water cooler with at least a 240mm radiator.
This Thermalright air cooler is a decent budget option on sale for $30 rn that is highly rated:
https://www.amazon.com/Thermalrig...B0FQ5MF5D5
Otherwise, decent AIO watercooling options start around $50.

I have the 265K, and a good inexpensive tower air cooler does the job. It idles in the low-mid 30's, and rarely goes above around 70 even when under heavy load.
