This comment is for the make your own using regular Dawn and alcohol comment that will inevitably pop up on these posts.

Other dawn products are all missing the most important solvent that makes powerwash work so well (Dipropylene Glycol Butyl Ether). The home recipe may work okay for many but it will not perform as well as the original when it comes to grease fighting capability. Personally I make s bottle of home made for general use then save the real stuff for the hella greasy and dirty stuff.

You're actually not supposed to use the full strength stuff on things like non-stick pans or a lot of other items if you read the instructions for having a weaker bottle of homemade solution is often good.

If you are dedicated you can buy the solvents missing from regular dawn and add them to your home made recipe and it will be much cheaper and buying the product outright if you are willing to go that extra mile.

Making a highly effective homemade version is a lot easier than you think. My current recipe is about 2 to 3 oz ultra dish soap, 2 oz Super Clean https://www.walmart.com/ip/Super-...om=/search (or any concentrated heavy duty degreaser) and 9 to 10 oz water. You can make it as strong or as sudsy as you choose by adjusting the detergents. They mix together just fine and it's generally safe to combine the two. Ask Google if you don't believe me, and this mixture works as good or better than the original POWERWASH. When using this homemade version you should wear disposable gloves (because of the Super Clean) and avoid breathing the spray which aerosolizes. It's best to spray very close to a kitchen sponge to avoid creating a fine mist. Sometimes you need to spray directly, that's fine, but get out of the way of the lingering spray. If you can smell it, you're breathing it. I would avoid breathing the real POWERWASH too.

When I want an even stronger version I add 2 oz Sam's Member's Mark Commercial Oven, Grill and Fryer Cleaner https://www.samsclub.com/ip/Membe...om=/search and 2 oz less water. Definitely keep this off your skin and out of your lungs (it has lye in it). Just sayin.

Based on the DIY instructions, I'd pay triple this to not have to make it myself, 'its generally safe' 'wear gloves!' 'don't inhale!' 'avoid creating a fine mist'... no thanks! Add to cart!
