I have a question to anyone buying this 132lb monstrosity - where do you plan to store it? I bet not in your garage that can get 100F in the summer. Probably basement? How will you get it there and back up/down the stairs?

240v - Can I charge an electric car off of this? I want to DIY some solar panels to charge a battery that I can charge my EV off of. I keep seeing deals on batteries like this popping up. Do I just need to make sure the battery can output 240v to make sure its compatible?

You store it next to your circuit panel. You add an interlock or cutoff and then wire in a plug this can feed to. Then when your power goes out, you switch of the main feed and turn this guy on.

Yes, but not very quickly, and you'll need solar. A car maybe has 40-120 kwh in the battery. This has less than 4.

Exactly. My circuit panel is in garage like in a vast majority of other houses. It is unsafe to store this monster in non-cooled garage over the summer.

The Impact of Summer Heat
Accelerated Aging: Sustained high temperatures act as a catalyst for internal chemical reactions, even when the battery is not in use. Storing a battery at temperatures consistently above 95°F (35°C) can cause it to age much faster than it would at room temperature.
Irreversible Capacity Loss: Prolonged exposure to heat causes a permanent reduction in the battery's ability to hold a full charge.
Safety vs. Stability: While LiFePO4 is chemically very stable and highly resistant to thermal runaway (fire), extreme heat can still cause the electrolyte to break down over time, potentially leading to swelling or internal resistance issues.

Long story short is it depends on how much solar you'll have. This unit can output 240v at 25amps which is 6000 watts, but since it only support about 3000watts of solar input (and a max of 60volt panels, which is somewhat limiting). So if you had 6 500watt, you could charge at 240v 15amps as long as your panels were outputting. You would also need either a car that can control the charging amps or a charger that supports the same.

I have a Tesla Model Y and I charged it on 240v with a full F3800. I got about 15 miles until it died.

I have my house on solar but I want to DIY a separate set of panels with a battery storage system specifically for my EV. I dont want a tesla wall battery. I just started looking into this as i won't have an EV until next month.
I can charge from my current solar setup but It will go against my net metering and i'm pretty much using everything I produce now. If I add additional solar to my existing array my net metering agreement may change and I won't be grandfathered in to the existing deal I have now where I essentially pay nothing for electricity every year.
If I build a system with a battery that is not connected to my existing system I can get around this and honestly I'll only need to charge 30 miles at most 4 times a week. I need to do some more research obviously but it seems like the most expensive part is getting the proper battery storage.

Not really, think about LiFePO4 battery in Tesla which is always in garage.

If you're going to charge with a solar panel daily, and you don't need it to power other areas in your home, then you can get ~15 per day.
