1200 retail is absurd. Decent watch for 700 bucks but it's gigantic for most wrist sizes

Tissot is a good starter brand. It's owned by Swatch, who also owns Omega, Hamilton, Longines, Mido, Rado and others. They operate them independently. $700 isn't a bad price for this specifically.

I don't see how 46mm is gigantic for a men's watch.

A lot of watches are 39 - 44mm for men. It really depends how it wears and how much it sticks up. This could be like wearing a Seiko TUNA and be a door catcher. I would have to try it on.

Tissot is almost always heavily discounted. $700 is about normal for this model. Theae ate not a bad watch, just nothing spectacular and huge indeed. There are smaller models of Seastar that wear much more favorably. Nowadays the tendency is towards smaller watches, 41mm and under.

I'm a bigger guy and have a 44mm Tissot Chrono XL and it wears big on me. I really think this thing would look like I'm wearing an Invicta watch or something.

The few photos in the reviews show skinny wristed customers.
