Anything under $200 is a deal. You'll get a few years out of it. Was my first smoker and by far the easiest. Perfect for any beginner or the every so often. The window is pointless. Get a decent wireless thermometer. The heygrillhey recipes are easy and great to follow.

Does it hold the temp really well and are the chips that easy to empty and reload? I have an older model but you have to constantly work the temp and adding wood means opening it up. I'd love to know from someone who actually uses it.

I had an older model, then picked up this one when that finally died. Newer model has a smaller chip chute so chunks can't be used as easily as with the old model, but otherwise has held up just fine with 3ish years use (stored in the garage). No need to open up the front door to add new chips.

Definitely an upgrade from the analog version that it sounds like you have. The digital version is double walled and has insulation, so even smoked on nights where it got down into the 40s.

My old smoker started tripping my GFI last week. No idea why. This is perfect timing

It's the heating element. You can get all the replacement parts on Amazon and watch how to fix on YouTube. It's a pretty simple fix.. I think I paid like $15 in parts?

I walked out of a target with that analog version for $89 on clearance like a decade ago. I had no idea what I was doing and in those 10 years I've actually learned something about smoking so I've been looking for the upgrade, the wanted to make sure it's worth it cuz that other one is still kicking just fine.

Also I don't use chunks I use chips so that should be a nice upgraded over the annoying drawer in the other one. Much appreciated on the reply.
