Feels more like an early-adopter tax than a deal. By the time most laptops actually need Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth, docks like this will probably be much cheaper.

Perfect for expanding the storage of a Mac Mini M4 Pro, I just picked one up for my setup. I'd been using a Zike TB4 enclosure for a year with a Samsung Evo Pro 990 Gen4 4TB drive. This morning, I unboxed this dock and moved the NVMe from the Zike to it, and it literally doubled the storage bandwidth compared to the Zike, even slightly outperforming Apple's OEM internal drive. I'm posting a screen capture: the first benchmark is the internal drive, the second is with the Zike TB4 enclosure, and the last is with the UGreen. The Mac already feels noticeably snappier when launching programs and browsers.

Agreed. TB4 is sweet spot right now.

Have this dock, would highly recommend. Probably not the biggest different if you are coming from TB4, but not crazy more expensive than a robust TB4 dock and the TB5 headroom should make this last ample time into the future. Handles dual 4k 120hz + rest of desktop peripherals with ease.
