With that said, I ended up using my brita pitcher for filtering cheap vodka and it does a very good job!

I think if people are feeling dire about filtering their water they should get a major league filter system and not worry about minor league pitchers. A 6 pack of ZeroWater filters is $70 at Walmart and they dont last. I think the 2 month BritaPlus is good for most people. The Elite hangs around for 6 months and for me that's too long. People should check their local water reports. A lot of places dont use fluoride anymore and chlorine is not only minimal but it naturally dissipates in a few hours (a reason pools need chems each day). Filter water for a pitcher and in a few hours its gone.

That said, ZeroWater does remove more contaminants than Brita, including PFAS, so there is a trade-off between filtration performance and cost.
I'm drinking out of a water bottle right now that does filter fluoride and it tastes a lot better than what I'd get from this pitcher. And for a lot less.
