I like the Brita stuff, but my issue with these water-pitchers are that they just seem to be weird in that it has the elite water filter which is their best one.. but the pour-spout on the pitcher is just completely open for stuff to get into the water. Not a big issue if you leave it in the fridge, but if you leave it out on the counter it just lets dust or whatever else get into it.

With that said, I ended up using my brita pitcher for filtering cheap vodka and it does a very good job!

The advantage of this design is fewer crevices for mold and mildew growth.
