I also agree it's shady with the new shrinkflation angle too. I can't stand that.
Community Reviews
Nongshim Shin Ramyun Black and Gold are the premium Shin bags, with richer broth and firmer noodles than the cup version. Black is described as beef bone broth with a more robust, less spicy flavor, while Gold is chicken flavored and also gets praise for taste. The packs include three seasoning packets, and the noodles are often dressed up with egg, cheese, or vegetables for a fuller meal. The main caution is price and shrinkflation, since the deal is compared against cheaper Shin Red and Costco pricing, and the coupon does not always appear.
The Gold and Black varieties include multiple flavor components instead of a single large red packet.
The Black version includes a bone broth packet and delivers a more robust flavor profile.
The noodles in the bag format are firmer than the cup version, which can improve eating texture.
An additional Subscribe & Save coupon can enable buying two bundles for $40 shipped.
The Gold (chicken) version is described as delicious by a community member.
Coupon availability can fail, since the Subscribe & Save coupon reportedly did not show up for one purchase.
The Black and Gold packs may be considered less spicy than expected, since Black is described as less on spice.
The Black cup version can have mushrooms that taste rancid, which is why some prefer the bag version.
The deal price may be questioned because Costco pricing for Shin Black has been reported as $14.59 for 10 bags.

Any time the 20 pack went on sale for $16 I stocked up. I have cases.
