My Onkyo receiver has treated me well since 2012 or so. No idea how this one stacks up, but I like the one I have.

If you're in no hurry, might be better off waiting to see if the RZ30 drops down to this price again.

It's much newer, pre-outs, independent sub outs & access to Dirac's Bass Control.

My 20 year old Onkyo finally died on me. I have even older 25 year old Polk Audio floor speakers and Polk audio rears/center. I am wondering if this is overkill for me.

Unless you need some of the new features, it's likely overkill.

With so many people switching to soundbars, there are good deals to be had on the used market.
Just research which models offer the features you need & look for a used one would be my suggestion.
