The switch one version is on the cart. The upgrade to switch 2 is via code in the box.

There really aren't that many games that are game key cards or code in box and I'm pretty sure there aren't any Nintendo first party games that are. They might have updates or dlc you can download but the base game runs off the cart with no or minimal install.

Yeah it was an in store only deal and not all warehouses had them, it was also a couple of months ago like mid April. I think GameStop had them used online about a month ago for the same price but that's also no longer on sale. If you've gotta get it today, this is the best deal right now, if you wanna try and save $15 you could try and wait to see if it comes back somewhere for $30

Most of the Switch 2 games I see are game key card apart from Nintendo 1st party games and Cyberpunk 2077.

So far, Pokemon Pokopia is the only Nintendo IP game key card granted that's not traditional Pokemon.
