About this title:
The epic action of this sci-fi thriller unfolds in a near future in which an alien race has hit the Earth in an unrelenting assault, unbeatable by any military unit in the world. Major William Cage (Cruise) is an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously dropped into what amounts to a suicide mission. Killed within minutes, Cage now finds himself inexplicably thrown into a time loop—forcing him to live out the same brutal combat over and over, fighting and dying again…and again. But with each battle, Cage becomes able to engage the adversaries with increasing skill, alongside Special Forces warrior Rita Vrataski (Blunt). And, as Cage and Rita take the fight to the aliens, eachr epeated encounter gets them one step closer to defeating the enemy.

Despite the fact these two strong actors were involved- I still feel this is an underrated flick

Love this movie. Seems like the sequel isn't happening??

edit: just looked it up and the director at least said they have a story

This is the quintessential bass track track test movie for high end home theater. The opening is often used for infrasonic testing w/ notes that rumble the home between 13-16hz. Though when the Chainsaw man movie goes to UHD / BD i'm sure that might be contested

Most companies that sell movies w/ Digital codes now dont even work if you try to redeem them. Digital code was always a scam anyways since they could take your content away whenever

The first film wasn't profitable.

it had a $178 million budget
a 2.5 multiplier means it would need $445 million to break even
it's actual worldwise was a $370 million gross
so it lost around $75 million

I think they changed it for the 4k version. The Blu-ray version has the better bass track, but the 4k version has great atmos effects.

I have both versions and love this quality of each version.

If that's your preference, you're better off sticking to the BR version.
The audio transfer on this version has been tamed(softened) down!

The overall transfer isn't that great anyways.

Real shame it didn't perform better at the box office. I think it's better than most of the Mission Impossible movies (in particular the last two).
Also RIP Bill Paxton.
