The Px8 stands out as a premium wireless headphone built for sound quality first, with strong build quality and a very polished feel. The audio is repeatedly described as better than Sony XM5 and Bose, and it is framed as the better choice for music listening than for noise canceling. The main drawback is weaker ANC and mediocre microphone performance, including reports of white noise or imbalance when moving. This is a last gen model, so older stock and battery longevity are worth keeping in mind, making it a refined pick if music matters most.

Common Questions (4)

  • The ANC is considered weaker than Sony XM5 or Bose QC and may leave much to be desired if noise blocking is your priority. It is a better fit for music lovers who care more about sound quality than maximum cancellation.

  • Yes. The Px8 is described as leagues better than the Sony XM5 for sound quality and far ahead of Sony and Bose overall, with premium build quality to match. The tradeoff is that B&W prioritizes audio over noise canceling, so it is aimed more at music listening than ANC-first use.

  • Yes, the PX series is reported to have a white-noise issue when moving, and the Bluetooth microphones are described as poor. That makes the Px8 a weaker choice if you need reliable calls or head-movement stability.

  • This listing is for the last-gen Px8, not the newer Px8 S2. That matters because some shoppers prefer waiting for the S2 or buying newer stock when spending this much on wireless headphones.

Best Slickdeal i ever got was getting the Tan in "used like new" condition last year for under $250. Best headphones I've ever had and I've used a ton (comparing to other wireless cans).
This is still excellent considering MSRP is $799

I used to have a pair of these. The build quality is incredible and they feel so premium. The sound quality is good as well.

That's like comparing a Porsche to a Civic.

These are in another league.

Not really, I have the px7 and their ANC leaves much to be desired. Also, their microphones are faulty because when you tilt your head there's a whoosh sound and the ANC becomes unbalanced.

I would go with XM5 or Bose QC over these, at least their ANC is consistent. Heck, even the Fidelio L3s are better...

I have these and the XM5. Sound quality wise, these are leagues better.
Worth pointing out, though, that there is a newer S2 model that is supposedly even better, so you may want to look out for a sale on those.

Well, these aren't the Px7, so your opinion on the Px8 doesn't matter.

Yeah, Px8 are definitely better than Px7. Also, B&W headphones are for music, not for ANC. That part is weak, but it does not matter for music lovers.

This problem exists in the entire Px series... Bowers doesn't know how to make BT headphones not have ass microphones...
