The Px8 stands out as a premium wireless headphone built for sound quality first, with strong build quality and a very polished feel. The audio is repeatedly described as better than Sony XM5 and Bose, and it is framed as the better choice for music listening than for noise canceling. The main drawback is weaker ANC and mediocre microphone performance, including reports of white noise or imbalance when moving. This is a last gen model, so older stock and battery longevity are worth keeping in mind, making it a refined pick if music matters most.

  • The PX8 can deliver premium build quality with a premium feel and good sound quality.

    SlyderDeals

  • The PX8 can provide sound quality that is leagues better than Sony XM5 for music listening.

    swechsler

  • The PX8 can be an excellent option when prioritizing audio quality over ANC performance.

    shreyasr

  • The PX8 can still be a strong value when purchased in used-like-new condition at a much lower price.

    kingjuno23

  • The PX8 Bluetooth microphone performance can be poor, including reports of a whoosh sound when moving.

    MaceartMaceart

  • The PX8 ANC can be disappointing, with ANC becoming unbalanced when tilting the head.

    Maceart

  • The PX8 can be a weak choice for buyers who specifically need strong ANC or a good microphone.

    shreyasr

  • The PX8 battery may have limited lifespan if buying old stock, with some warnings that it may last only a couple of years.

Not really, I have the px7 and their ANC leaves much to be desired. Also, their microphones are faulty because when you tilt your head there's a whoosh sound and the ANC becomes unbalanced.

I would go with XM5 or Bose QC over these, at least their ANC is consistent. Heck, even the Fidelio L3s are better...
Valid concerns. I've had these headphones for a year. If you're looking for ANC / mic, these are not the headphones for you.

These headphones are for you if you want great audio quality.

This is last gen model px8. Buy old stock of wireless headphones with caution as the included battery will only last a couple of years. When you spend this much on cans, you are better off with a set that will last. If this were the Px8 S2 (second edition) I would have grabbed one.

I got mine for $235 used-mint and couldn't be happier with the sound and build quality. Lightyears beyond the big names like Sony, Bose, etc

bathys MG are literally twice the price. what do you think?
That doesn't mean a thing anymore. I've got various levels of headphones and earbuds. Twice the price doesn't necessarily get you anywhere near twice the performance. It's called diminishing return.

A "couple" of years? I sincerely doubt it will die that quickly. I have a pair of 6 year old Sony WH-1000XM3s (older than these PX8s) whose battery life is still very close to what it was when they were new.

There's a trade off between sound quality and ANC that every vendor has to make. B&W chooses sound quality so the ANC won't be as good. As long as you know what you're getting into, you'll get a fine product.

All things being equal, possibly. But B&W also uses improved quality drivers and amplification, better than Sony. And they could always provide two levels of ANC; one to maximize audio quality and one to maximize noise cancelling (and one to turn it off, which they already have). So overall, I don't buy it.

I definitely acknowledge what you're saying. If I made some assumptions, it would be that they actively choose to invest less research/effort into the ANC, and/or they don't want to compromise on sound quality.

It certainly means something. It means twice the cost, literally. 100% more expensive.

Nothing in commerce has their intrinsic value directly tied to it's dollar price, that's a given. A "diminishing return" is a return no less.

Whether it's worth it to you depends on how rich you are I guess.
