If you think you have a filament problem... Welcome to my world lol. The attached not even all my filament, plus another like 40 spools coming from the Amazon Haul deals yesterday.

Attached photo is storage I printed, but I also have one similar to the one in this OP which I keep right near my printers.

Haha every color in the rainbow plus more. I don't have nearly that much and I only got like 5 rolls from Haul yesterday, but I still have way too much. I need to finally get an AMS and print more Wink

I have a P1S with 3 AMS units, but there is a ton of purge waste on most color prints. My next printer will be a multi-head head printer where there is very little waste. Maybe then I won't need so much filament lol. Not that I need nearly as much as I have, it's just become a filament buying problem for me Smilie.

Oh yeah, I'd love a multi-head unit, but it's outside of my price range right now. Someday though...

Is that storage system you printed available online to download?

Yes, both are free on Makerworld.

Link to the ones going up to the ceiling: https://makerworld.com/en/models/...Id-1010841
And the ones to it's left: https://makerworld.com/en/models/...eId-370507

The one going up to the ceiling is going to end up using more filament (I kept adding and adding until my ceiling forced me to stop lol), but you only need to print what you need. The one on it's left, I have it up to 5 rows with 5 foot conduits and for stability reasons, I'm afraid to continue building it higher.

This reminded me thay I need to print a modular filament rack. Wish I wouldve remembered yesterday and inwould have gotten an extra 3 spools of black pla+ on my Amazon Haul order!!!

Anyway this is a solid deal but they design could be better. There is just way too much wasted space between the racks. They could have added an extra row if they were closer together.

Oddly, the listing doesn't say how much space is between the racks. The attached photo is from one of the Amazon reviews. So it looks like the space is just right if storing in their boxes and a little extra room without the boxes. They probably wanted to cover both scenarios. I personally use my similar rack for opened filament of mine which which doesn't need to be stored with humidity control (basically PLA variants, all though in my printer room, I can keep PETG out for quite a while without any effect)

It cost more in filament to print those than it does to just buy these racks. It also ties up the printer for an incredibly long time.

I printed several of these until I realized it was really a waste of time and money. But they do look nice!
