Deal Details
Costco has four Tapo TC85 cameras for $100 shipped. This is $40 off their regular (already good) price. Sale ends 6/26, while supplies last.

Note the solar panel version is already sold out.

Have been using these cams for a few months. They were easy to set up and have been working great. Wifi range is extremely good.

I've had them up for 3 months and none have run dry. Less active ones are still around 70%

I got the solar version and tried one out without the solar and it used less than 3% battery in 8 or 9 days. I like that these appear to have the magnetic mounts rather than the threaded mount that came with the solar. I think I'm going to get these and return the solar ones.

Can you use these outside? In Texas heat? Or solar is better? The deal is enticing.

Working fine in the Southern heatwave here. I would recommend a good quality SD card.

Since these only record during movement events, you can get away with a much smaller microSD card than with continuous recording devices. Useful with the current stupid pricing of memory.

I agree that the magnetic mount is the way to go. I wonder why it is packaged so differently for the solar kit.
It's a shame that you can't get ithe magnetic with the solar kit.
Any other options for low cost solar panel to use with the not included kit?
Maybe buy the solar and then purchase the magnetic base separately?

Not sure, but given the long battery life, you may not need the solar at all unless it's in a difficult to access location.
