I bought this when they were at $250 and although they sounded good to me, I didn't notice a huge difference in quality compared to my DT 990s. To be fair, I wasn't running it through a dedicated amp (tried it plugged straight into device as well as through an Arturia Minifuse 2 interface) so maybe that's what I was missing? They also felt really cheaply built to me. Am I crazy?

FWIW, I have the DROP PC38X and I can't tell much of a difference. The PC38X just have a hint more bass but the soundstages are awfully close as far as I can tell. Have a DAC for the HD600.

Again, at this price seems like I will keep them (Just bought yesterday, so will have to return/rebuy)

Think this is the lowest price they have ever been, besides maybe the one off price mistake for $99. I missed that one and not sure if a lot of people were able to get it at that price.

I was trying to resist buying since I already have the 6xx, but I broke and ended up buying these 😬

I got my Arya stealth for a little more than these Sennheiser HD 600 headphones... they aren't in the same universe. Arya stealth are God tier for the price. These aren't planar. I do worry about the longevity of the arya stealth though. I hear some people have had the phones just die suddenly. Probably because of the paper thin planar magnets. So having a backup is a nice idea for that.
