Yes, although that's true, on Sunday prior to Prime Day, I was able to find an XFX 9070 XT on AliExpress for less than $500 using a $70 off promo code from their most recent sale and that's including tax+shipping. I'm still waiting on its arrival and I checked the comments under the product listing to confirm that others have successfully received their delivery before placing my order. This is my first time buying a GPU from a seller on that platform so wish me luck.

You must live dangerously or must have money to burn. I've read horror stories of people getting fake tracking numbers or waiting months to get it to get lucky and finally get it or have something sent at all

It's not as risky of an endeavor as you might think since I've ran into situations before on AliExpress where I didn't receive the item I had purchased: On one occasion it was a 5700X3D and on another occasion it was an 8Bitdo SN30 Pro (ALPS) controller, and once I was able to prove to AliExpress customer service that the item had never been delivered based on the tracking info provided by the seller, I was refunded the total amount for each item on my original method of payment w/in 24 hours. And yes, I do have money to burn b/c I buy electronics to do product reviews on my YouTube channel.
