Starting August 3, 2026, eBay will no longer sell physical or digital eBay gift cards online. For a limited period, physical eBay gift cards will remain available for sale in select stores.

If you already have an eBay gift card, you can continue to use your balance on eBay just as you do today. In the U.S., gift card balances do not expire.

If you return an item, we may still offer you the ability to choose an eBay gift card as your refund option.

This is just a PSA: eBay gift cards (both physical and electronic) will no longer be sold starting August 3, 2026. Existing gift cards will still be able to be redeemed after that date.
So I guess it won't be possible to purchase discounted eBay gift cards going forward.

We've decided to stop selling eBay gift cards and focus on other ways to support customers
Will gift card refunds be affected?
No. There is no change to existing refund policies or how you receive refunds.
If you pay with a gift card and your order is cancelled or returned, your refund will go back to your gift card balance as usual.
What happens to my gift cards after August 3, 2026?
Nothing will change about how you use your gift card on eBay.
You can still add any gift cards you have to your eBay account.
Any remaining gift card balance will remain available and can continue to be used on future purchases.
When will physical stores stop selling eBay gift cards?
Each retailer may stop selling eBay gift cards at a different time, depending on its remaining inventory.

Already mentioned by another member but I get 5% off eBay Gift Cards via Target Redcard. You can also buy eBay Gift cards whenever there's a Target Circle reward for "Spend $xxx at X times, get $XX back in rewards". Bought $300 worth today at $285 and also got $30 rewards.
