Bestbuy has such low standards. Order this deal for "good" condition . Drove an hour to go pick it up today. Got there , had no box , no remote , no power cable, handed it to me wrapped in bubble wrap. I said this is far from good condition per your guidelines , they couldn't care less. Ended up not even picking it up and returning it on the spot
This open box Samsung 48 inch S90F OLED is appealing for a cheap 4K OLED, but the real draw is the chance to save hundreds if the unit is clean. The upside is that some open box TVs have arrived looking new, and Best Buy returns make inspection easier. The downside is repeated reports of missing remotes, power cords, stands, and even boxes, especially on fair and good grades. Burn in and damaged panels also show up often, so checking the unit in store matters.
Living-room viewers using it in a darker corner, because OLED brightness can struggle in bright rooms.
Buyers who need a reliable open-box unit with all accessories included, because fair and good listings can arrive missing the remote, power cable, stand, or box.
Yes. Multiple open-box OLEDs from Best Buy have shown major burn-in, including units with thousands of hours and static images left on-screen, so checking for image retention before purchase is important.
It is risky to buy sight unseen. Fair and good units have arrived missing the remote, power cable, stand, or box, and several open-box OLEDs have shown severe burn-in or panel damage after pickup.
Yes. Inspecting it in store lets you verify the remote, power cord, stand, and screen condition before you leave, which matters because Best Buy open-box grading can be inaccurate and returns can become a long drive back.
Yes, but only if you catch the problem quickly. Best Buy returns are described as easy, yet once a cracked screen, burn-in, or missing accessories are discovered after taking it home, the store may blame the buyer.
A 48-inch OLED can be a bit small, and 48-inch panels are described as having weaker panels than 55-inch and up. It can still work well for a secondary TV or a darker corner, but brightness can be limited in bright rooms.
a bit on the small side.. I have the Sony A80J OLED from Amazon deal 4yrs ago and it's great but struggles in bright rooms... I run dual tvs so stashed my spare away until my TCL 6 series died. Now I'm glad the old Hisense 58" still works after being stored that long in a damp shed. It's just right for my news feed on the side in a darker corner.

Bestbuy is not trustworthy. I don't even bother with BB open box anymore. I've even received "New" products that were clearly used which should not be allowed.
My "fair condition" came with no remote, no power cable, no stand, no box, wrapped in bubble wrap. Appeared good from visual inspection. At store they found a power cable in the back which they gave me, turned it on, looked fine. Got it home, used a samsung remote I had and found out it had 4694 hours and the idiots who returned it left a static image on it for extended amount of time, possibly a business logo or something. Tried pixel cleaning twice but its burnt to hell. Returning it. For $100 i would have kept it, but not for $452 plus partial refundable tax.

I had almost the exact same experience, only I didn't open the bubble wrap and find that there was no stand, no remote, and no power cord with the panel until after I was home. This Best Buy was about 40 minutes away (one way). So much for "good" not missing any essential accessories.
just went to pick up mine - good condition. i insisted they open the box and turn it on for me. turned out it had no power cable and no remote. they said they cant turn it on, so i walked away.

That's not a return. 99% of these are going to be shelf displays and 100% of those are going to have burn in to some degree. I've tried multiple open box Oled TVs from BB over the years and never had a good one. Tried one of these same story. The listed condition doesn't mean anything with BB either this one for me was listed as good and had nothing like yours. I bought an LG G2 a few years ago listed in good condition that was just the tv and power cord. Tested at home and had terrible burn in. I returned it to a different BB than where it was purchased closer to my house and the manager there literally acted like they didn't see any burn in when they plugged it in to test it. Then later that day that store listed the TV I returned in EXCELLENT condition haha.

I was wondering that, but why are they stupid enough to toss power cable, box, stand, remote, and paperwork. Also I don't go to best buy stores as I do most shopping online, but why the heck would they play something that is static and going to cause burnin.
Confirmed. Found sticker on back saying shelf display.

I just picked up a "good" condition floor model today. Horrible burn in with over 5000 hours on it. Should have walked away when it didn't include the remote and they refused to power it on.

Thanks for the warning. I almost bought the same Samsung model open box one from walmart. And after seeing all these comments. I learned that electronics, especially OLED tvs, is one thing you shouldn't skimp on. Might as well pay a little more for a new one and save yourself the headache.

I say it couldn't hurt to check it out first before deciding not to buy. Easy returns plus the box isn't that big. I've gotten open box good tvs from Best Buy that were new with the plastic still on the screen, and saved hundreds of dollars in the process
Best Buy used deals are trash in my experience. Tried buying a PS5 in excellent used condition and it arrived missing accessories and was only half wrapped in a single layer of bubble wrap. Fed Ex drop kicked the box all the way to my door from the look of things. Will be taking it back to the store for a return tomorrow. Such a waste of time.
I honestly wonder what Best Buy is hoping to achieve by doing such a poor job packing and listing their used stuff. Sours me on buying anything from them in the future.

Living-room viewers using it in a darker corner, because OLED brightness can struggle in bright rooms.
Buyers who want a 48-inch screen for a smaller setup, because the compact size suits a side news-feed or secondary TV.
Buyers who need a reliable open-box unit with all accessories included, because fair and good listings can arrive missing the remote, power cable, stand, or box.
People expecting a bright TV for sunlit rooms, because OLED brightness can struggle in bright rooms.
Buyers who need a dependable 48-inch panel for heavy use, because 48-inch OLED panels are described as weaker than 55-inch and larger models.
