I'm not trying to be "that guy", but cotton is kind of the worst material for shorts. Its got weight, absorbs sweat, and doesn't dry quickly. You would be better off with nylon. My favorites are Old Navy "Explore Shorts" (~$15) and VRST "All-In Unlined Shorts" ($10-25 for select colors). The VRSTs go on sale in the fall for much less, if you can wait it out.

Check Amazon for these as well as I think they are trying to price match. Just yesterday I received 4 pairs (different colors) for $7 to $8 each...good enough for me to wear around the house.

Are those slim fit? (Tapers along all the way to hem and hem does not stick out on sides?)

The Old Navy shorts don't taper, the VRST ones do.
