In my opinion, if you are going to keep a printer for a while, get a tank-style printer where you refill with a bottle of cheap ink (any brand, even compatible ink). The printer costs a bit more upfront, but if you use a printer enough, you will wind up saving money with a tank-style (which typically comes with 1-3 years of ink IN THE BOX).
Just checked, and here's the RIP OFF: HP wants $73 for a black cartridge that only prints 1000 pages and color cartridges are only 800 pages (and this is with the EXTENDED cartridges that are double the pages of the regular cartridges). Also, this printer comes with "starter" cartridges that are far less than the regular, so expect to be shelling out $200 for a set of ink VERY SOON.

It would be one thing if it was a service that charged you when your ink was low and automatically sent you more. Instead it charges you monthly regardless of whether you use your printer that month or not, if you didn't use it, you're still charged the subscription.
Oh and if you cancel your subscription the ink you currently have in your printer becomes unusable unless you renew the subscription.

it's 2026 folks. Spend a couple hundred more and buy a color laser printer. Toner lasts longer, can often be bought cheaper than name brand. inkjets are cheaper because they bend you over on ink.

Yes, if we don't use it still we pay. But that is there everywhere. Even for apple icloud subscription we take X gb buy we don't use full evey day.
So for the price this might be perfect for someone. My general experience has been very good with HP printers.
