Has HP prebuilts gotten a lot better in the past 10 years or so? I had a prebuilt that had a bunch of issues right around the 1 year warranty mark but that was over 10 years ago. I'm really considering purchasing this. Thanks.

For the unlucky ones (like me) that ordered between the last flash sale & this one, I just chatted with HP rep for more than an hour. Long story short, they dont price match the new sales price, but they can place a new order for you with this price and an additional $100 discount (lots of back-and-forth to get this though), an place a request to cancel your old order and annotate it if you have to still return it later but without restocking fee. Things will be a lot easier if they simply price match their own price.

It should have fell within the Price Protection Refund if it was within 30 days

For the additional $100 discount, I basically was insisting asking the req to cancel my existing order without creating a new one, as I was hoping to wait for a new capital one rewards email with 4% cashback as I used it for my last order). The rep really doesn't want to just cancel my existing order directly without a new one, so they gave me additional $100 to create a replacement order

No they explicitly said they can't match it because it's promo pricing

Ahh that is some BS. But yeah it's the policy I guess.

I didn't know either and I just went to their discounts tab and signed up for the student/parent/faculty discount using only the name of my university. That's all they asked for.

I have one with a 14700f and 5070ti that I stole off ebay very recently and its been great. their gpu's are built like tanks, memory hyperx, storage probably samsung 980/990 pro with hp firmware. mine, though my air cooler has been fine, after I manually tuned the fan curve, better cpu and 5080.

This looks like it on pace to go cheaper, since the flash sale is over. Probably will go $2449.99 on another flash sale day before 4th of July or on 4th of July. EPP will probably bring it down around $2299.99

Based on prior posts, I'm guessing/hoping this is slated to run through this weekend, and some are expecting a potential additional price drop? Trying to decide if I should wait... 😁
Update: Didn't want to risk it so I pulled the trigger... Good luck to all!

As somebody who's in the market for a 5080 machine, this seems to check all of the boxes. Am I missing anything?

The mobo is likely a certified turd. Prebuilts usually use a proprietary board that is underwhelming in every sense. This one appears to have 1 PCIEx16 slot? And 2 M.2 storage slots? And SATA connectors are unknown if you have other storage devices you need to connect.

That may be true on the MB, but you aren't building one at this price yourself these days. Maybe things will be back to normal in 2029.
