Are the solar panels the only difference between this one and the 600$ amazon front page one? Are they that big of deal?
Can you share the promo code for 40$

Whether the solar panels are important really depends on your use case. We use our power station at kids' sports tournaments to power a portable cooler, so the pass-through charging from the panels is just a small plus for us in that it helps extend the battery (and therefore allows us to cart around a slightly smaller/lighter battery for the day) - since we still have a vehicle power source nearby, the panel output for us is not that significant and we have more of a priority on portability moving around tournament sites vs. charging speed. Note that not all power stations allow this "pass-through charging," so if that's in your own use case (i.e., charging while also drawing power) you want to make sure your chosen unit supports it. The Jackery Explorer 1000 linked here does.
As for differences with the similar $599 FP post, yes - the linked deal there (https://slickdeals.net/f/19615206-jackery-solar-generator-1000-v2-200w-solar-panel-599) is the same "Explorer 1000 v2" power unit, it is just being bundled with a 200w panel instead of the 100w panel in this thread. Whether that matters to you is again down to your use case and whether the solar charging speed is particularly important for you or whether you are comfortable with the slower charging that is going to come from a smaller 100w panel. The 100w mini panel in this bundle is listed by Jackery as being appreciably smaller (425 x 422 x 55 mm, about 17" in LxW) compared to the 200w panel (600 x 597 x 40 mm, about 24" in LxW) when folded, so if you are hiking/mobile and not just moving this in a vehicle this difference could factor in (e.g., a 17" panel likely fits in a common backpack whereas a 24" panel may not).

1070Wh divided by 100w panel is nearly 11 hours in perfect conditions (which is nearly impossible) from a fully depleted battery.
