A reliable and consistent UI that will last for like a decade. Smart TVs have a problem where they slow way down after 2 years. This helps to remove the desire to replace a TV after every 2-4 years.
Yeah you can take this with you at least

Ordered one through pickup at local Sam's Club, scheduled to pick up this afternoon. SHowed low stock, and after I ordered shows sold out. We'll see if they produce one. Wouldn't the the first time I ordered something only to be told they were out. ALSO ordered one at another Sam's further away... they SEEMED to have more stock. Did so primarily as a backstop now wondering if I should flip one if I get my hands on both of them.
Found out my Sam's doesn't pull orders until right before your pickup time.

And don't forget about the benefits of never connecting your TV to the internet itself. There was that whole scandal of Samsung TVs like a decade ago.

Online, maybe all gone, but some are still in stores.

Do not get this deal thread killed just because you are too lazy to find a store in stock.

See attached.

Having to use Tailscale outside of the home network seems like a good reason not to go this route.
I am so confused. Can you explain what you mean why it's a bad idea to have to use Tailscale outside the home network? For Plex, you'd need to port forward which is even worse, from a security perspective.

I never said it was a bad idea. You'll have to choose for yourself if you prefer more security or more convenience. For my use case Tailscale doesn't work. If it's just you that wants to access Plex outside your home network then it would make perfect sense.

Try using AI. It works flawlessly here and once you get it setup, OMG it's amazing! You can have it setup to auto-connect to your tailscale when your phone gets off wifi

Getting it set up for me is not really the issue. Personally, I use tailscale all the time to connect to and do things on my home server. The issue is many friends/family having to set it up and use it and also using devices where tailscale is not an option.
