But the price is right and they are suitable enough for things like lug nuts. The big problem with these isn't so much accuracy, but in getting a reliable and noticeable click when the set torque is reached.

For several years I used their 1/2 torque wrenches, I had one and kept exchanging it because it would go out of sync. However I also have one of their 1/4 torque wrenches that has lasted for many years and is still in sync. I store at the minimum value.

If you're going to buy the 1/2 torque wrench I would not use it below 20 ft-lbs, the torque-reached clunk at like 10 ft-lbs is too light, especially if you're not familiar with torque wrenches. It makes it too easy for someone new to over torque like a 14 ft-lbs drain bolt or something thinking they haven't reached the torque.

I own 2 of each of the 1/2", 3/8", and 1/4" Pittsburg torque wrenches that I got on sale about a year ago for $10/ea and they are all EQUAL TO or MORE ACCURATE torque tollerances than my 3 "good big name brand" similar torque wrenches such as my $90 Craftsman 1/2" and 2 other midpriced well known brands that most people consider to be good quality at a decent middle-of-the-road price range in the sub $100 range. I tested them all new from the box using a digital torque meter 10 tries with each one of the 6 torque wrenches at a low, medium, and high torque value for each of their ranges, then I took an average of their results per test recording the highest, lowest, median, and mean average and compared them to 3 different big brand torque wrenches I also own and the Pittsburg ones were either equal to or slightly more accurate with a slightly tighter range of results than all 3 big name brand ones that cost between $40-$90. Always store them set at zero since spring loaded torque wrenches will lose accuracy over time if you leave them for long periods of time with any preload on the spring. Maybe I got lucky to get a good batch, maybe you got unlucky to get a bad batch, obviously quality control won't be as good as SnapOn so a greater percentage of Pittsburg duds will slip through but I'm very happy with the performance of all 6 so far.
