Use AA batteries and it will work during power outage. The system transmits on 433.92mhz, my home assistant is able to read both sensors via a SDR receiver.

I have this one and the older model [amazon.com]. Clearing the stored high/low temperatures on this model is not as intuitive (the older model has a dedicated clear button) but it's easy enough to just to pop out a battery and put it back in.
For the sensors, I recommend paying the extra for lithium batteries especially if you're planning on dropping one or both in a freezer.
