JLab Go Air Pop Plus earbuds stand out as a very cheap backup pair with strong battery life and solid sound for the price. The small charging case can also be handy in a pinch, and the USB C setup makes it easy to top up with a phone or any cable already on hand. Fit and usability are the main drawbacks, though, since the earbuds can slip out during running, feel bulky for smaller ears, and are hard to grab from the case. Bluetooth mic recognition on laptops has also been unreliable.

I used to prefer the type a version, until I realized I could charge it with a phone. It's much more useful now.
Why do you want to kill the phone battery?

In a pinch, why not. These batteries are a small fraction of the phone battery. You can then just charge your phone with any usb-c cable you have.

Just FYI, ive been having an issue with these and Bluetooth connectivity with my laptop. These do not recognize as a mic like 80% of the time so it's really annoying. I can remove and repair and they show up for calls a couple times but then something goes wrong again, it's frustrating. If anyone has a solution would love to hear it.

Got these for my kid. Tried them out, not impressed. I mean, it's relatively speaking, the price is great. Sound is really lackluster. Not a lot of bass, even with equalizer. Also realize that they are big, I have big ears and they hurt after an hour. Kid has small ears, ended up getting them something else as they didn't fit them at all. And what the other person said is true, it can be hard to get them out of the case.
I also have the Baseus BP1 Pro that I got for $18 at some point and they are miles better than these.
