Great tool! Have had it since it's release. If you're already in the DeWalt 12V system, its a no-brainer at this price!

Being that it's a 12 volt system it's not worth it. You're just going backwards. If most of your cordless tools are DeWalt 12v then maybe it's a whatever since that is what you'll be using for a while. but if you only have one tool or even 2 that are 12 volts then don't put yourself in the position of having to maintain 12 volt batteries moving forward cause of one new "cool" do it all tool. Need to move forward with 20 volt and wait patiently for deals. Or get tools that can use a DeWalt 20 volt battery. like the 1/2" impact that I got on sale for60 bucks. Made a huge difference having a cordless one than having to plug-in every time I'm doing heavy work from tire removals to subframe dropping.

For light DIY or tight spaces, 12V is plenty and way lighter than 20V. At $119 with all the attachments, this kit is solid for cabinetry and interior work.

If you are just working on your own stuff, then what you`re saying is acceptable. For people that have a genuine need for a small cordless installation driver, having both 12V and 20V is not a problem.
