I've gotten plenty just buying tools that come with them. For other tools I've bought compatible 3rd party versions off Amazon, I've had good luck and no issues yet but I think it's sort of russian roulette with them.

I have a lot of mix match greenworks, powerworks and maybe snapper 60vs I use that all fit.
That being said, I do currently have a Knock off 60v ($60/$70ish) in my amazon cart waiting to purchase. I have had this mower since 2019 still on original batts and one of the 5ah is now pretty shitty. I use this mower as my shit beater at rentals, I dont take care of it or even move limbs out of the way. This mower has been great!

I have not had luck with aftermarket batteries. Bought 2 at the beginning of summer, went to use them next spring and 1 was completely dead and the other lasted another 2 months before completely dying. Original greenworks batteries go on sale often (picked up a 5ah for $100 a few years ago) and as someone else said tools go on sale for cheaper then buying the battery by itself.

I think they could have gone with rustproof instead of rust resistant for the deck description since it's made of plastic
