The Mini 5 Pro bundle stands out as a strong value for buyers who want the drone with four batteries, especially versus the pricier Fly More combo that includes only three. It is praised for quick setup, sharp image quality, and the lightweight Mini form factor, with the RC2 controller shipping fast for at least one order. The main tradeoff is the missing ND filters and storage bag, though those can be added separately. Warranty and U.S. authorization concerns come up, so the bundle feels best for shoppers focused on battery count and price.
Drone owners who want simple U.S. registration, because the Mini 5 Pro serial can validate on the FAA website and standard Remote ID is built in.
Pilots wanting a sub-250g drone that avoids registration, because real-world weights are reported above the threshold and registration may still be required.
It can need registration because many units weigh over 250g in real-world use, especially with the standard battery, and the Mini 5 Pro has standard Remote ID. FAA registration works when the serial number validates against the Declaration of Compliance, but some China-only serial ranges may not be registerable.
This bundle includes 4 batteries, while the Fly More Combo has 3 batteries and is priced around $1,159. It does not include ND filters or the oversized shoulder bag, but those can be bought separately, and the extra battery is the main value difference.
It is being sold as an authorized US retailer bundle, which matters if you want to buy domestically rather than from South Korea or AliExpress. The practical upside is easier purchasing through a US seller, though some comments dispute how much authorization matters for DJI support.
Yes, the bundle price reportedly dropped to $949 after purchase, and B&H's price-match help page is linked in the thread. One buyer says calling within 30 days resulted in a $50 refund, so it may be worth asking sales for an adjustment.
Yes, the RC2 controller was confirmed in stock by chat for at least one order, even though the item page showed it as out of stock. That order also shipped quickly via 2-day FedEx.
Yes this drone is legal in US, this month i registered my new Mini 5 Pro bought from Ali Expess with FAA no problem, the server recognized the drone serial number is for Mini 5 pro and process my registration. It weighted above 265 grams.
The FAA has something called a Declaration of Compliance for Remote ID. Since the Mini 5 Pro has standard remote ID and it is approved by the FAA here: https://uasdoc.faa.gov/listDocs/RID000002581
When you enter the serial number during registration, it will be validated. according to the DoC, only serial numbers between the following are allowed for the M5P:
1581F9DE000000000000-1581F9DEZZZZZZZZZZZZ
This means if you get one of these China-only M5P drone with a serial number outside this range, you won't be able to register it at FAA.gov.
Without this DoC, a drone cannot be registered on FAA.gov. The "validate" button was implemented by the FAA a few years ago to prevent you from registering any drone you wanted. In the past it was ok because we didn't have remote ID. Now that we have remote ID and the remote ID is the same as the serial number, it has to be validated.
In the future, if you get your hands on a Mavic 5 Pro and there is no FAA DoC, you won't be able to register it which means you won't be able to legally fly it. Drones >250g are no longer allowed to attach a module, you must have standard remote ID built-in.
I'm wanting to purchase my first drone, and the DJI Mini 5 Pro is the one I'm set on. The combo I've been wanting is the RC2 Fly More Combo that is usually priced at $1,099. Is this a better deal than that? I just pulled the trigger on this one, because it seems the only thing it doesn't come with are the ND Filters & the shoulder bag.
I'm going to assume you bought yours from a South Korea seller for that price. Yes, I agree that the mini 5 pro (or any DJI drone for that matter) is cheaper from South Korea. But for those looking to buy it from an authorized US retailer, the bundle in this listing is a great deal.
I grabbed this yesterday at $950, and it is still that price, should probably update this posting. I was bummed about it not having the ND filters, but I see there are variable ND filters being made, so I'd rather have one adjustable one than be changing them all the time anyway.
The B&H listing states 249.9g. Those who state it was over that, were you weighing it with the plus battery?
Several people have stated registering the unit but if it's below 250g it does not need to be registered. At least that is what I thought.

The listing is a stock list provided by DJI but it should include the notification that weights are approximate and may vary by + or - a small amount which will definitely put it over. So far, the vast majority of M5P drones that were actually weighted turned out to be *over* not by a little so no wonder DJI (after launch) has backed off the 249.9g claim.
This drone has standard RID so it doesn't hurt to register it in the US; super simple.

I got my Neo 2 from South Korea, but the mini 5 pro from aliexpress.
Few possibly real valuable things here: Everyone, like myself that bought this at $999 without tax with using their credit card. You can call them within 30 days and have it price matched to $949 (refund). I also learned that if you call them you can get an "extra" warranty (YMMV) with CPS (CPS 1-Year Extended OEM Warranty - normal price $27.99) for the remainder of the manufacturer's warranty due to DJI issues in the US. Call them and see if sales can also add that to your order like they did for me today, I am not sure if having used the credit card helped me getting the "additional" warranty, free of charge.

Is the warranty even good, especially based on what a poster noted above...stating that DJI is essentially not repairing anything in the USA at this point.

Yes, I think so as it's a third party called CPS (Consumer Priority Service) in the US that will take it over for DJI instead. It's a service offered by B&H through CPS.

What's the difference, other than price, between the CPS and Allstate plan offered by B&H?

It's good because it's more like an insurance policy. the buyer doesn't have to concern themselves what goes on with the sausage making (repairs, etc) behind the scene. You make the claim, when approved they likely send you a replacement (new or refurbished like new product). Hardly anyone these days will take in your "covered" drone, attempt to make repairs to it, and then send back the same drone unless the task is trivial.

You can still get every product on eBay. There is not and won't be a ban.
Better to go with an eBay seller at the lowest price you can.
