Definitely be careful, quick scan of cheap AM5 boards only allow NVME drives in their m.2 slots. AM4 lists NVME and Sata so you'd be okay there. Point is, this is a good price for cheap bulk storage (older games, pictures, videos, etc), but check compatibility before you buy.

Maybe better just to get 2.5 inch SSD because it will prob be faster as this drive is only rated for 550 Gbps, I just don't see the value in this SSD as there are plenty of other 2280 drives that would work better than this and the fact that some boards do not support 2242 size.

Do yourself a favor and do a full disk write before putting it into production. One pass of Linux bad blocks with sata erase should do it

SATA3 maxes at 600MBps but in reality it truly is a max of 550MBps. So no this as an M.2 vs 2.5" does not matter since the interface is maxed out.
