Something most people don't think about or know is that you can turn any normal fan into a smart fan with a "smart switch" that you just replace the flip able light switch with at the wall. It will make any normal fan work with Alexa. I've done this in my house and never had to place any of the fans. That way you don't need an app or a remote.

I've installed a similar fan like this and it stopped working after a year or so... so YMMV
