Another Team17 is Monster Sanctuary for $5, 92% positive reviews, which do a better job than me explaining why this game is so good.
I loved it on switch so I got it on steam to play AGAIN on my deck. It's a one player creature collector/platformer, where each creature has skill trees (yes, plural) with a lot of passives and active abilities to choose from. The replayability is amazing because you fight each battle with THREE monsters and each monster has potential for radically different builds, so you can make your team well rounded, or support/boost eachother, or OP super focused damage stacking/multiplying team, or whatever. Platformer comes in when you use some monsters for certain types of travel (speed, flight, etc). Some things I like personally are that monsters heal after each fight, so you're not wasting time running to healers or managing an inventory of potions. And each area you discover adjusts itself to your current level, so there's no wrong way to go or any need to grind. It's such a well thought out game. https://store.steampowered.com/ap..._Sanctuary
Then after you fall in love with that game, look at Moi Rai's other game Aethermancer. It looks like Monster Sanctuary on steroids. I haven't played because it's still early access and evolving, so I'm waiting until the final product, but it looks amazing too.
