So the console came in the mail today. Was supposed to be excellent condition. No original box, or the sleeve, no manuals, no original cords. The ps5 was just in a cardboard box with no peanuts or protection around it, just some bubble wrap not even taped aroung the console so was loose and it had room to bounce around in there. The controller was in a zip lock bag with a nintendo USB C cable, and old hdmi cable that's not even 2.1. The console had sticky goo on one panel with some residue of a sticker that must of been on it. The panels were not fully attached with some damage to the attachments points. Can hear something when I move it side to side and there is a funky smell coming from everything, like some perfume. Will turn it on and see, might return it, not really happy for an excellent condition.
They just want to keep pushing digital. PS6 might not even have option.
its not working as 70% or more ps5 sold were disc. Since this modular option, I think its the best way forward and will stay modular even on ps6, giving people the option to buy it if they want disc. Majority want disc games still for the option to resell them down the road, which digital does not give you yet.
Purchased the "Good" condition yesterday from a store an hour away that had it in stock, went to pick it up today and made the mistake of not opening it in store to make sure everything was good. Got home opened it and there is a playstation 5 original version in the box. I'm still debating if I should return it or not, from what I've read the original ps5 runs hotter than the newer slim models. And also I'm not sure what the condition of the liquid metal is in this, it may need replacing soon so I'm kind of leaning nore to returning it.

Yeah I returned it, best buy rep was trying to echange it for another open box digital model when he was running it through his system he said there was price difference and i had to pay like 200 more. I was like no thanks give me my refund instead lol, he tried saying the listing I bought was actually for a original because it qas through a third party and not them even though everything from the pictures to the title and description mentioned the playstation slim digital edition and i literally bought for pickup and was ready the same day its not like some third party seller shipped it to my house lol. Nevertheless lesson learned, always check open box stuff in store.

All games about to be digital only, does seem like the direction they're heading
Yep, that's what I thought and it's becoming a reality, with the speed of internet, capacity increase (regardless of how much it costs, eventually it will also come down) and the way publishers/console makers trying to push out 2nd hand market, we are at moment of no return and drive-less consoles were the signs of what's to come. They still try to please people by selling junk game boxes with no game inside (card to download the game only) so what people can think they buy physical.. We are done, they are going to take gaming away from us by one day deciding "your console is too old to play these games anymore" just like how older iPhones don't run new apps anymore because "Security!"
