At $79, this was FP with Lowe's: https://slickdeals.net/f/19611369-2-pk-20v-1-7ah-dewalt-xr-powerstack-compact-batteries-79-free-s-h

If you have the Discover 30% off promo and find something around $20, these come out to be $56 for two 1.7A Powerstack batteries, not bad.

Because they are small and light. Peace

I use them for the flashlights (3x) and pruning shears. They run a long time in those applications and make everything lighter. ~2x more charge cycles as well. For small jobs I use them in the drill & driver.

The POWERSTACKs are pouch cell batteries. They'll theoretically deliver more current (and thus more power, but for a shorter time) than conventional lithium ion batteries. But that's dependent on the tool, some tools can draw the extra power and some don't, and you might notice or not. Generally the bigger tools like impact wrenches see a change, while smaller stuff like an oscillating tool or impact driver it won't matter.

But you also have tabless batteries coming out, and most brands are skipping pouches and going straight to tabless. Tabless can deliver even more power than pouch, and generally have fewer downsides. Dewalt calls their 20V tabless batteries POWERPACK.

These Dewalts are designed to have good power delivery and be especially lightweight. On the other hand, they are pretty expensive - most brands regular batteries go for $12.50/ah on routine sale, and you can hunt tabless batteries for not much premium depending on the brand. I have Metabo HPT tools for instance, and it's pretty easy to find the 2.0ah batteries for $25 (but also silly, because MHPT liberally sprinkles them in tool kits.) Dewalt batteries are just expensive in general compared to pretty much everyone else.
