I used to refurbish Zebra printers for a living. The older models are amazing. The quality of construction is so high that I gained a lot of respect for the company as I repaired them. Metal pulleys and parts on all of their industrial printers. I worked on the S4M, Z4M, Xi 3+, and 105SL printers mostly. Very high repairability and easy to work on.

Fast forward to Zebra products made in the last 6+ years. Not so great. The ZT230 and modern printers changed much of it to plastic. I would expect them to fail after 5 years with parts starting to break due to plastic fatigue. Meanwhile, 30 year old Zebras from pre 2000 still print fine - although using the archaic parallel interface. I had some printers with over 6 million inches printed on them and mechanically they would still be in excellent condition. (They have an odometer that counts in inches)

Do I need to have some kind of e-commerce account for this or does it just act like a traditional printer? I'd love to print off to do lists for myself

You dont need an e-commerce account, but this is a thermal printer made for created thermal labels for shipping. It is not like a traditional printer. You can print anything with it, but it has to be on thermal paper.

Most of not all of these cheapo Bluetooth only printers force you to use their crappy apps and use you have to use their consumables (paper).

Is solution to buy used Zebra printer? Seems like they hold value well and use any paper if I recall correctly.

Yup. I have a little Niimbot one for small 40mm labels. You have to use their labels, which have RFID in them so the printer knows.
I do not know if this one thas that restriction. For my 4x6 labels I use a USB connected thermal printer from "Offnova" which works with any thermal labels. It just shows up as a regular printer in windows.

Deal no longer works. I received mine today it's great. I previously had a Jadens and didn't like that i needed a separate tray to hold the stickers. Having this one jold them internally is so much better. You can save your printer pdf and open it through their app it works perfectly. I use pirateship.

Sometimes it takes multiple tries for coupon to apply. I just tried 3 times before it worked

If you're printing 5 labels a week, get a paper cutter and glue stick. Print the labels on your home printer , trim and glue stick the back. It's a lot simpler than dealing with special print settings for sticky paper , and thermal paper for these DRM printers is very expensive

This looks like a good deal. I recently got a 4x6 BT printer w no touchscreen and no storage for labels as a FP deal for $45. It's worked well but I'd spring for the extra $15 for this if I didn't already have it.
