Sole material
Ethylene Vinyl Acetate
These can sometimes be slippery when walking on wet surfaces.

Obviously people must have luck with slip-on shoes, but I've found that they never quite fit. I've tried several sizes and brands--they always just feel loose and there doesn't seem to be a good way to tighten the laces.

I enjoy sketchers, but they rarely last more than 6 months.
I mean a lot of other brands do the same I guess.
Seriously that was not the case with 90s and 2000s sneakers. Yes they were probably more expensive ($70-$100 in mid 90s pre inflation adjustment), but damn they lasted a lot longer.

Not just shoes. I have T shirts from the 90s that just don't wear out. Jeans too. Now I"m lucky to get 10 washes out of new clothes. Even Levi's or Gap which used to be very good quality.

Most Levi's production went to China years back. I saw the massive factory. Also saw them dumping the old dye on the ground, was all over the place, yech.
