Might be the wrong place to ask but is there a generic drone (I know it won't be equal in quality or QC) similar-ish in function to this around the $100 mark? I don't care if it has a built in screen on the controller or miles of range...but I would prefer a legit controller vs just a phone app.

FWIW, the other day I was looking at a Snaptain S5C Elite for $80. That (on paper) seemed decent.

Just got the Fly More combo version of this deal yesterday for $449, and I'm greatly enjoying it already. It's my first drone, and it's a whole lot of fun.

I did the same. This model seems to be the best compromise giving the most useful features I'd use for the lowest price.

This is an awesome beginner drone. I picked mine up a few months back, though not at even this low of a price! There are lots of open box or lightly used batteries on eBay too. I grabbed 3x more with less than 5 cycles each on there for about $50 each. The controller with built-in screen is so great though and glad I didn't get the janky one you have to stick your phone into to use.
