Joola's having a flash sale on their IV 14mm or 16mm Magnus pickleball paddle.

$99.95 with PRO99 code until Sunday the 28th.

I've used the Perseus for over a year with no problems.
A pretty good balance between power and control paddle.

FYI it's a .5 difference between the regular length handle.
Really only comes into play if you regularly hit two handed & don't choked up when you do ime.

This would have been a great deal last year, but if you are spending 100 or more in 2026, you should be getting a gen 4 full foam paddle. Vatic and Ronbus makes great full foam paddles for 100 or less

Full foams are not great paddles… no pros use them. They all use honeycomb. The pros barely even use a boomstick

And how many pros are here on SD?

In my experience, foam paddles are great. Everyone that I know that uses a gen 4 paddle much prefer them over honeycomb paddles. Every single person. Yes, none of us are pros. Also my current all foam paddle has lasted longer than any other paddle I have owned. But I only play 5 to 7 days a week.

I play 7 days a week as a 4.0 player what do I know. All the people above 4 don't touch foam paddles. Yes the last longer but no they are not better. Majority of players my level or above all use honeycomb. Randomly you will get the 4.0 with a boomstick or a loco but that's about it.

So your sample size represents the whole pickleball population? Completely different data where I play. There's no right or wrong answer. Play with whatever you want. But don't claim to know "nobody above 4.0 plays with foam". If these weren't selling, they would stop making them. Reviewers would stop reviewing them. I can't remember the last time I saw a review of a honeycomb paddle.

To be fair, not much different than claiming "you should be getting" either.

I agree there is no right or wrong universal answer.
Ultimately it's a feel/confidence choice on which to go with ime.

TBH all this performance differences only matters when you have the control to take advantage of them consistently ime.

Haha, you got me. Good points, I agree. Play with what you like. Look at some reviews, try out different paddles and go with what you are comfortable with.
Thanks for posting the deal.

11six24 and Honolulu have way better grit (better meaning more spin and unreal longevity) on their gen 4 foam paddles. If you are going gen 4, these are the ones to get right now. With that, this is still a crazy good deal. Bummed I missed it.

Pros also receive free packs of gen 3 paddles from their sponsors since pros treat them as completely disposable. Some pros use a new paddle every day of a tournament. The retail consumer/player isn't looking to spend 200-300 on a paddle to have the core crush or grit wear off in 2 months (looking at you Joola Pro IV and Selkirk Boomstick). These gen 4 paddles solve core crush and are all coming out with variations of rough grits that last forever relative to the carbon faced gen 3's

It's a matter of preference. I am a 4.2 player. Even though I love my Loco paddle, I also enjoy playing with my Paddletek TKO-14. One thing I notice about the Gen 4 foam paddles is that I tend to develop sore shoulder and elbow. So lately, I have been playing with my Paddletek.

I am an ambassador for Bread & Butter, Honolulu, and 11SIX24. If you have any questions or need a code, feel free to DM.
