I just grabbed the 4 on Ali for 453. Shipped local in about 3 days. Cant imagine choosing the 3 to save $75 even if the updates are minimal. Worth it for the battery life alone!
The DJI Osmo Pocket 3 is a compact gimbal camera that still draws praise for smooth, immersive travel footage and easy editing. The price has come down from its earlier peak, and the current deal matches Best Buy. The main tradeoff is that it still needs a microSD card, which adds to the total cost, while newer options bring built in storage or extra lenses. Overheating concerns and compatibility worries around DJI mics also come up, making it a solid fit if its workflow matches your setup.
Travel vloggers who want stabilized handheld footage, because the camera can make trip footage feel immersive and easy to edit.
Buyers expecting the older model to be the better value, because it still needs a microSD card and is described as not worth choosing to save a small amount.
Shoppers who need a camera that works with any wireless mic setup, because DJI mics pair easily but other setups may require a receiver or Bluetooth compromise.
The Pocket 3 has dropped from around $700 when it was sold out, but newer Pocket 4/4 Pro and Luna Ultra models are pushing prices down. At this price, it is still competitive, though some shoppers prefer the Pocket 4 for its battery life and built-in storage.
Yes, the Pocket 3 requires a microSD card, which can add close to $75 to the total cost. That extra expense is one reason the Pocket 4's included 100GB storage is seen as a practical upgrade.
Yes, DJI mics can pair directly with the Pocket 3 without a dongle. That makes it a convenient choice if you already own DJI audio gear and want to avoid a receiver or Bluetooth workaround.
Overheating has been reported as a problem, and one comment says there is no solution. It is worth checking that issue before buying if you plan to use it for long recording sessions.
Am I wrong to be more intrigued by the Insta360 cameras?
I thought they were a gimmick until I saw what they can do. We took to Greece and I'm editing now, it's like I'm there again. They are incredibly awesome.

Considering DJI seems to be on USA's naughty list, unless you already have DJI mics you may as well avoid them. Other than that issue, the DJI stuff I have used works great. I do have some DJI mics and they pair without any need for a dongle to these cameras which makes them a great choice for me.
I was going to get an XTRA Muse but they would require me to plug in a receiver or pair using a lower quality Bluetooth connection.
Insta makes wireless mics that pair with their cam. I'd go that route if I were buying everything I need right now.
Theres a firmware update that allows the XTRA Muse to natively pair DJI mics without the receiver now.
