"Lasted 8 years"?
You are very mistaken. Cast iron cookware doesn't 'go bad' even if you don't keep them seasoned properly.
There isn't a single skillet (outside of rusted into dust) that can't be fairly easily stripped to bare cast iron and restored to perfect with proper seasoning process.

You 'buried' your cast iron several hundred years prematurely by lack of knowledge of cast iron cookware.

Try working out if cooking in a pan that sits flat on a stove is too heavy. 12" isn't too big for 2 people, or someone who meal preps.

I've had this pan for over 10 years. It's been in bon fires, propane grills, I even cooked steaks for friends at work using an oxy/acetylene torch to heat it. I've left it dirty on the stove for over a week countless times. Worst case you just boil some water and wipe it out, then cook some bacon in it. I don't even oil it anymore. Spray it with water and wipe it dry. Lowest maintenance pan I have.

Been using this brand for the past 3 years, and its been pretty solid cast iron. Id highly recommend some type of heat guard for the handle. The cast iron seems pretty standard compared to other brands.

Just bought this for $29 and delivered today's not with the effort to return for a few dollars. But my previous lodge pans lasted 8 years, and toward the end, the fault was on me for not seasoning consistently after each wash.

Heavy AF, maybe if you're cooking for a family of 4. 8-10" works for 1-2 people

If you don't already have one, but this immediately. One of those worth full price purchases because I've used mine pretty much daily some times multiple times per day now that I'm retired

Anything special with this Lodge brand compared to something like Ozark Trail cast iron skillet from Walmart which costs less?
