You are very mistaken. Cast iron cookware doesn't 'go bad' even if you don't keep them seasoned properly.
There isn't a single skillet (outside of rusted into dust) that can't be fairly easily stripped to bare cast iron and restored to perfect with proper seasoning process.
You 'buried' your cast iron several hundred years prematurely by lack of knowledge of cast iron cookware.

You are very mistaken. Cast iron cookware doesn't 'go bad' even if you don't keep them seasoned properly.
There isn't a single skillet (outside of rusted into dust) that can't be fairly easily stripped to bare cast iron and restored to perfect with proper seasoning process.
