Thoughts on this vs an equivalent US General from Harbour Freight?
I can't comment on Harbor Freight because we don't have one here. But the Husky HD line of tool boxes are really good in my opinion. I own a big rectangular roller one and my dad has the HD chest combo, really tough in my opinion especially for the money.
I have this one. Been great. My only advice is if you ask for one in a box its easier to take home since its 2 pieces.
Also check it out before assembly. Mine got wet in the box im assuming because it was full of rust powder. By the time I noticed this it was way too late to take back to store.

I've had this for a couple of years now and love it. The color, metal gauge, drawer action...all pristine.
When you pick it is it will be assembled. Make sure they hand you all the keys.
There was no box in my case but get some cardboard to avoid scratches etc.
The most difficult part was getting if safely off the truck by myself...used 1/2 plywood sheet to slide it off its backside, but it was still heavy to control.

What? Are you saying the tool box was rusted or just some dust that was easily wiped away with no other damage, or that the box was soggy wet?

I bought mine during black friday for same price. It was last one and display only. It def needs to transported in 2 pieces. Was able to take off the top part with some hex keys. Theres only like 4 screws on each bracket holding together. Once apart its pretty easy to carry with 2 strong people.

I think they stored the boxed unit outside at one point because the box sides were warped like when cardboard gets wet then dries all funky. The top hutch had orange rusty dust when I opened it and the powerstrip wasnt working. Husky sent me a new one to replace it but I was more concerned about the rust tbh. They said I needed to load it back on the truck myself and bring it back to the store. I ended up wiping it down because....well fark that.
This isn't necessarily true. Husky heavy duty line is better due to thicker gauge steel. I'd personally say that USG stacks up really well side by side, if not better if compared directly to husky standard duty.

I actually looked at this exact comparison. The Husky toolbox is much much more rigid. The drawers and slides are more firm and seem more apt to handle the weight of tools. The over all weight and build of the Husky is heavier duty.
The US General boxes seem a bit flimsy and not as "tough". The drawers have a lot of bend/flex in them, the metal seems thin and cheap. I also was not impressed with the drawers slides, again they seem cheap and likely not open and close correctly fairly often.

They wheeled mine out in one piece. I felt smart because I had the foresight to bring a small driver and bit set, and it took all of two minutes to remove the brackets that hold the top and bottom boxes together.
