Respectfully, why would I pay $50 for an enormous powerbank when Baseus sells a compact 20K mAh for $20-$25?

Anker is a huge reputable company. Like most name brands, you're paying for track record, reputation and probably your loyalty for the company. I know very little about Baseus, I know they make battery packs as well but I would choose Anker because I've had a very good experience with them for some time now.

Anker is over hyped and over priced IMO probably because of the reasons you stated. Portability is a huge part of carrying these powerbanks and this thing is enormous. Have a few Baseus products as well as Anker and Inui and frankly I'll never pay for the Anker name again especially because all their portable batteries are huge and 2-3x the price of the competition.

I did not notice this does up to 87W so to be fair this is more for charging laptops and other high draw electronic devices. Cheers to those that find it suitable to their needs.

Baseus is also a reputable company. I have 2 travel adaptors with retractable USB C cable and they performed flawless in the USA, AU/NZ. I also have Anker products (Soundcore etc). I think the difference with this product is the 87W charge capability which would keep a laptop running for a bit?

I'm with you on this. Plus there are several instances of Anker stuff catching fire. They aren't immune to it. They have lost a step. I've been using Inui for many months now with great luck.
