Tiny (14") 60Hz (low refresh rate) dim (300 nits) display, at slightly better than "standard" resolution. Once you've had a 16.1" 165Hz 500+ nits 2560x1600 laptop display, it's no fun going back.
Also, no numpad (hard requirement for me also).

Mostly what you wrote is " i need a 16" laptop". 14 isnt tiny, its portable for ppl who want that, 60 hz is fine for non gaming. It is dim though, but at $700 with 300 just in ram idk what else you could cut to get this price point even refurb.

Numpad, 500 nits are must haves for me, but you won't find a numpad in a 14" laptop basically ever.

Add "rear power+HDMI" to your must haves if you haven't had it yet. Such a great improvement.

I get these are technically budget-build laptops, but I'm still always surprised Acer is able to source these terrible screens, especially considering even their own Chromebooks have vastly superior screens. I got a similar A14 for my parents a few months back and was honestly shocked by how bad the screen is. Definitely serviceable, but still worse than some screens from even 10 years ago.
