If anyone, like me, is only buying one of these to "bushwhack" in the backyard with overgrown weeds and such, the serrated back comes in handy with small branches. Sure, it's not for survival training in Borneo, but for hacking a small limb off a wayward maple, it saves walking over to find my saw from the garage when I just thought I was cutting down some pokeweeds that are 6 ft tall.

For jungle use, 1095 high carbon steel is ideal material, which is also cheap.

The serrations on this are comically large and useless for nearly anything. Smaller teeth like on the saws of Swiss Army knives would be far more useful, but if it can be sawed with the type of teeth you can put on the back of a machete, then it can be cut much faster by simply using the machete as intended and hacking/chopping/batoning it. If you want a clean cut I guess a saw is worth the effort, but you aren't sawing anything cleanly with the huge hawkbill serrations on this thing.
